Out of School!

Well I have enjoyed the morning with my family. I don't get to do that very often since I am always gone before the boys get up. This morning I cooked them breakfast because we are out of school due to icy roads. I really enjoy cooking sometimes especially when I know it's something that they like. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and ham are always a big hit. I had to get them full because today is the day they are going to tackle their roooms. I'm sure they are busy as I type. I am so thankful to the Lord for all the things that He does for me, let me be a dad is one of the Best blessings in Life.

I am wrapping up my preparation for the weekend, I am looking forward to our time together. Please come and bring a buddy. You will not be disappointed I promise! Don't forget that our Easter service is just a few weeks away, so please get involved in all the activities that will be going on that weekend.

I'll be in Memphis, TN on Friday so pray for a safe trip.

What's your passion?

I have so many things that I love to do. They range from horses to golf clubs. In my short 40 years of life I have been passionate about several things. When I was fresh out of school one of my passions was playing softball. I loved every minute of being apart of a team and doing my part to help win. It wasn't at all like work yet I spent several hours a week doing it. When I wasn't playing I was looking forward to when I would. I know you probably have had things in your life that were very similar. It was or is a passion for something that drives you to give your best. If you are not passionate about something you probably will not give your best. Passion is a powerful emotion. What about Compassion?

Jesus said several times in the New Testament that He had compassion for people. I know that doesn't surprise you but listen to this, every time He mentioned compassion it was followed by an action. Not just any old action it was usually a miracle! When God opened my eyes to this I finally understood that for me to be motivated to give God my best I must first understand that I need to be burdened for the lost world around me. Compassion for those around me will drive me to give my best. Mediocricy will not due for those who have a Passion for the hurting. I am praying that God will not let me loose sight of those in need.

I must say that some of the funnest times in life have been on a softball field, but the Greatest times in my life have been when I have worked hard and given my best so that someone else has been blessed. Just something to think about

Thank you for still checking this blog! I'm sorry for the time away but my laptop will not let me on my blog for some reason. (i'm on the secretaries computer). I am setting here just so excited about what God is doing in our church. This has been a Great week as people have stepped up and decided to take leadership in so many areas. There are some wonderful things coming I promise. We just finished up our series of sermons on Happy Days and many of you have been so kind to say how much you enjoyed the sermons and needed the sermons. It is my prayer that we would have a church that would help folks experience God's abundant love so that they may live an abundant life!
