Good News!!!!

Yesterday as some of you know I started a new sermon series called "Good News". It was so cool to be able to talk about good news instead of having to bring up bad news. In the world that we are living in it's not hard to find bad news, just turn on your tv or computer and it doesn't take long to find it. That's why I am excited about the next few weeks leading up to Easter because I am going to be preaching various scriptures that provide us with Good News. Yesterday was a Great beginning for us, many of you commented that you enjoyed both of our services very much. It is always wonderful to leave the services knowing that God has used that service to make a difference in people. If you missed yesterday it was on "The Gospel" which means good news. In a nut shell the Gospel simple means that Christ died for our sins that we might be forgiven and have a relationship with The Lord. Some might say well why is that so great? Well you really can't appreciate the Gospel (the good news) unless you know the bad news. The bad news is that we are all born sinners and we are all going to die, and if you die without being forgiven of your sins the scripture says that you die and go to hell. Now when given the bad news isn't the Gospel a wonderful thing.

I am already looking forward to next week, bring a friend who needs some Good News in their life and lets see what God does for them. Please continue to pray for my mother as she is still in the hospital in Jonesboro. She has pneumonia and fluid on her lungs. I will be leaving the office in just a little while to go and be with her and dad. She sounded better on the phone this morning so we are encouraged that she is getting better.

Don't forget that Easter is just 4 Sundays away and we want to have a great gathering of people so start now inviting your friends to come and be with us on Easter Sunday. I hope all of you have a Great week. I will be in Poplar Bluff tomorrow for Cowboy Church starting at 7pm come join if you can if you can't come tell someone about the Cowboy Church. Wednesday night I will be going back to Poplar Bluff to support some of our church members and the Malden Green Wave basketball team that is competing for a State Championship. Go Green Wave, get your MOJO on and beat Charleston. It looks like it's going to be a fun week. Don't forget to comment I love hearing from you as much as you love hearing from me. Until tomorrow!

I just put the picture in to show you what happiness looks like.

Brother Kevin, I just wanted to let you know that we couldn't have picked a better Sunday to come to church. Seems like we haven't had anything but bad news lately, we sure needed a little good news! It's so easy to get out of the habit of doing certain things...miss a couple of Sundays of church and those couple of Sundays turn into months for some people! But we know where we need to be, and now we've got to work on straightening some things out...but we're trying. Just pray for us and our family. There are many people in this family that need prayers!
With love,
The Herren Family
PS...Believe it or not, I have sat here and read EVERY one of your blogs and I loved them! Especially the ones from the cruise...that is my dream for some day!
